A bit more about Imposter Syndrome

Imposter syndrome is a psychological pattern where individuals doubt their accomplishments and fear being exposed as frauds, despite evidence of their competence. This feeling is common among high achievers who often attribute their success to luck rather than skill.


How do you know if you struggling with Imposter Syndrome

If you constantly feel like you don’t deserve your success or worry that others will discover you’re not as capable as they think, you might be experiencing imposter syndrome. It can manifest as self-doubt, fear of failure, and perfectionism. You may discount your achievements, believing you’ve fooled others into thinking you’re more competent than you are.


Imposter syndrome can hold you back from seeking new opportunities, hinder your performance, and affect your mental health. It often leads to stress, anxiety, and burnout, as you strive to meet unrealistic expectations and fear making mistakes.


A couple of easy things to try.

  • Recognise and accept that you’re experiencing these feelings. Name it out loud!

  • Challenge negative self-talk and replace it with kindness and positivity.

  • Keep a record of your accomplishments and regularly review them.
